How to Evaluate an Instagram Growth Service: A Policy-First Checklist
Ten questions to ask before paying for Instagram growth, checked against what Meta's policies actually say, so your money buys customers instead of risk.
· InstaGrowth Team
Short answer: before you pay, find out three things: how the growth is produced, who controls your account, and what gets measured beyond follower count. Then check those answers against Meta's own policy text, quoted below. If the service can't explain its method, or its method is buying engagement or accounts, walk away.
What Meta's policies say (quoted, with links)
- Engagement: Meta does not allow "selling, buying, or exchanging for engagement, such as likes, shares, views, follows" (Spam policy, checked 2026-10-15).
- Accounts: the same policy prohibits "selling, buying, or exchanging platform assets, such as accounts" (same source).
- Inauthentic assets: Meta prohibits using inauthentic accounts or Pages to mislead people about identity or to evade enforcement (Inauthentic Behavior policy, checked 2026-10-15).
- Third-party apps: in 2018 Instagram said apps generating inauthentic likes, follows and comments violate its terms (announcement).
These quotes aren't legal advice. Read the full policies before you decide.
The 10-question checklist
- How exactly does the growth happen? Get the mechanism in writing.
- Does it buy or exchange engagement? Pods, likes-for-likes and bought followers all fall under the Spam policy above.
- Does it rent or sell accounts? Account trading is also named in that policy.
- Who controls my login? Know what the tool does while signed in as you.
- What is measured besides followers? Look for DMs, link clicks, signups and sales.
- Are the "guarantees" claims or contract terms? For example, Plixi advertises "Guaranteed Results or It's Free!" (plixi.com/pricing, 2026-10-16). Read the refund terms behind any promise.
- Do the claims contradict each other? One seller's page said "No bots" while also listing "Follow/Unfollow Automation" (upleap.com/pricing, 2026-10-16).
- Is the price dated and complete? Promo prices change. UpGrow showed "50% OFF /month for 1 year" on 2026-10-16 (upgrow.com/pricing).
- How is AI content handled? Meta may add "AI info" labels to AI-generated media (Meta).
- Can I cancel and keep everything? Your account, your content and your data.

Frequently asked questions
What should I ask an Instagram growth service before paying?
Ask how growth is produced, who controls your account, whether engagement or accounts are bought, what is measured beyond followers, and what the price and cancellation terms are. Then compare the answers with Meta's Spam and Inauthentic Behavior policies.
Does Meta ban buying followers?
Meta's Spam policy says it does not allow \"selling, buying, or exchanging for engagement, such as likes, shares, views, follows\" (transparency.meta.com, checked 2026-10-15).
Is a money-back guarantee a good sign?
Not on its own. A guarantee only covers the number promised. Ask what produces that number and whether the followers ever turn into customers.
